Despatch assistant
Ensuring the accurate and timely flow of orders into the DT warehouse.
To be the first point of contact for Sales, Customer Services, Drivers and DT.

main duties
-
Ensure all TC orders are processed via Transend traffic management system and sent to DT in a timely manner and within the agreed cut offs and at the agreed regular intervals to ensure DT have enough work to keep their pick team occupied at all times.

Booking returns with the appropriate carrier

Support the Transport Manager in ensuring the 'least cost routing' methodology is used for all outbound deliveries

Ensure all TC third party deliveries receive a pre-delivery phone call

Provide driver IDs where required (barracks/prisons etc.)

Sort any Despatch issues, maintaining a high standard of communication between TC and Logos, and their customers and carriers, which also includes: Initiating and providing evidence for all carrier damage claims, dealing with daily delivery problems as and when they occur i.e. short deliveries, misrouted consignments, vehicle breakdowns etc. - This could result in a requirement for special transport being booked

Providing cover across the team when necessary

To work closely with the Transport Manager to ensure all areas of the Despatch are running smoothly and within budgetary guidelines

Assist the Transport Manager with the maintenance of vehicle fleet, to include but not limited to: Ensuring drivers have cleaned their vehicles, collating defect sheets/expenses/tachograph, booking service or maintenance with 3rd parties

To perform other reasonable tasks as and when required to do so
